On Wednesday 28th of June we received tragic pictures of Keilewerf 1 in flames.

Give a Bike Foundation had been based in this unique location since December 2016, and had become a hub for social bicycle projects as well as a community of bike enthusiasts and mechanics in training.

Today, we would like to kindly ask for your help and support, so that we may start picking up the pieces for a new Give a Bike workshop and continue repurposing bicycles for social projects in the Netherlands and abroad.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP
If you have access to some bike tools (or tool boxes) you would like to donate, or bicycle parts (inner tubes, tires, wheels), bicycle repair stands, pumps, angle grinders, or other materials you think may be handy for our workshop, we would very much welcome these materials. Quite some people have come forward with suggestions for a location where we may set up a temporary workshop in Rotterdam. We think we may have found a solution, but if you have further ideas please feel free to share them with us (+31618849795), as this is our first priority.

We have set up this crowdfunding page to collect some money which we will fully invest toward our new workplace. We’re extremely grateful for any donation sent our way.

Give a Bike was part of the Keilewerf community and we’re incredibly sad to see all our fellow Keilewervers struggling with the loss of their work, workspaces, and income.
